Church Prayers and Intercessions

Church Prayers and Intercessions

Intercessions Sunday 5 February

Dear God. We thank you for this new day; a day spent in your presence; a day to be amongst our family, friends, and loved ones. Let us give thanks for the fellowship we have together here within our Church? Give us the courage and strength to help one another and become a strong team during times of change, as we travel on our journey of life. May you bless the future of this, our Church, its family and all who visit here?

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer
We pray for people around the world. For those who are hungry and sad. For those who are homeless and cold; for those who are lonely and frightened. May those who are caught in worldly incidents find comfort among others at their time of need? Guide our world leaders Lord, to help these people find food, shelter, warmth, comfort and safety from those around them.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer
We pray for everyone who lives in our community. We pray for the teachers and children in our schools; lecturers and students in our colleges and universities; the consultants, doctors and nurses in our hospitals; the residents and staff in our care homes and for all those who protect and look after our town.

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer
We pray for our families and friends, both near and far. For the new friendships we have made this week; for old friendships that have been remade, for the family and friends we have known for many years. Let us remember and pray for our dear friends, family and loved ones that we have lost over the years. May we all have special and cherished memories of the times we spent together?

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer

As we pray here together this morning let us all think of and pray for those who may be sick or suffering in any way today; those too ill to be here with us; those who are in hospital, those in our care homes. May they know Gods love and be comforted by their friends, family and those who care for them?

Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer

Jesus Christ is the light of the world, a light no darkness can quench. We remember before God those who have died and light a candle to symbolize the light of Christ which eternally shines and brings hope. We remember
You turn our darkness into light; in your light shall we see light.
Merciful Father, accept these prayers in the name of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, AMEN

We say together…THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory Forever and ever Amen.
