Church Prayers and Intercessions

Easter 6

Let us pray, for all people, in all places, and in every kind of need.
We pray for all peoples and all nations in the world. We pray especially for Nepal the nation which is mourning its dead, and trying to rebuild a country which lies shattered and broken. We pray for all countries torn apart by war and violence. We pray for refugees, remembering a war-torn Europe of 70 years ago with thousands of refugees of its own. May we extend a helping hand to those fleeing persecution and death today.
Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray for Elizabeth, our Queen, and all leaders in all nations. We pray for the new government of this country, for those in power in Westminster; and also those who have a place more locally in politics and decision-making. We pray for religious leaders throughout the world, and Charlie, Sam, and Jane. May all leaders be guided by love and compassion, and know Christ’s love for all mankind.
Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray for all who suffer, remembering especially today those who suffer because of war. We pray for those who have died in war, fighting for our freedoms. We pray for those who carry the injuries of war, mental or physical, and for those who care for them. We give thanks and pray for all who died in the two World Wars, who willingly made the sacrifice for the world we enjoy today.
Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray for those who have been lost to us through death. We remember them and pray for them. We know God’s love encompasses all people, living and dead. We hope and pray we may one day be reunited with our loved ones. We remember and pray for any known to us in a moment of silence…
Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world, a light which no darkness can quench.  We remember before God those who have died and light a candle to symbolise the light of Christ, which eternally shines and brings hope. We remember …
Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

You turn our darkness into light: in your light shall we see light.
Merciful Father,
accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Gathering our prayers and praises into one, let us say the Lord’s Prayer together.

The Lord’s Prayer…..
